How to join

Anyone over 16 can become a full member for just £40 for a full year membership for those over 21; pro-rata for mid-year joiners; £22 per year for members aged 16-21 (youth rate) with pro rata for mid-year joiners; £3 per film night for mid-year youth joiners.

Membership benefits include:

• Free entry to all film nights
• Free or reduced-priced entry to special events such as summer trip, film quiz night
• Say in how the Society is run; a vote at the AGM
• An opportunity to meet people and make new friends

The Society was established in 1966 by film enthusiasts at a time when film fans were ill served by local cinemas. Despite the establishment of the Cineworld complex and the rise of the Picturehouse, now the Abbeygate Cinema, we have continued to fill a need with local film fans.
